From having participated in other collaborative projects in previous schools, I have used and applied the skills I learnt into this one. The key to a successful and smoothing running project is communication. For the most part social media group chats have helped us share and discuss ideas outside of the Thursday sessions, that has progressed our project at a faster rate than other groups have. We deliberated different roles (Marketing, architects and artwork makers) together by all putting forward an area that they would like to participate in, then allocating each role. I chose to be on the marketing team, especially website design due to having experience with this type of advertisement, so I could get it efficiently completed as I know how to use all the tools available. Recording images of the finished product was also assigned to me and Charlotte, which turned out amazing due to our ideas for different shot angles bouncing off each other. We worked well together throughout the entire module, helping each other out when needed. The model itself could have been improved being more patient whilst painting, crafting and gluing together so it wouldn’t look as messy but these flaws could be manipulated out of the image once the final images were taken. The model turned out better than I expected, and lived up to our expectations, even last-minute features added enhanced the piece.

On the other hand, there has been many issues with this module that have frustrated me and a few others that have inputted loads to the group. Firstly, attendance to the Thursday sessions haven’t been the best with at least half of us. Personally, I haven’t gone to one or two of the meetings due to other commitments but I have made sure to ask for the brief rundown of what was said during the session as well as getting on with the work needed of me by following session. Some people haven’t bothered to turn up to the sessions or have come in for 10 minutes then left without doing anything but chatting.
Me and Charlotte have had to do extra work outside of our departments because some members of the group haven’t bothered to do it, or have managed their time badly with other modules so have had to give their tasks to me. I don’t mind helping at all, but when the tasks are automatically put in front of me without discussion is unfair. I helped Charlotte out with creating small speakers for the Rachel Mclean room, helped on parts of the model, also taking over the creation of the leaflets from Selina.

I’ve also asked for other marketing materials e.g. posters about 7 times from a member of the group so I could add it to the website to make it look more professional. I eventually received them a few days before the deadline and managed to include them on the website.
